Travertine is a terrestrial deposit of limestone formed in caves and around hot springs where cooling, carbonate-saturated groundwater is exposed to the air. Travertine is one of the most frequently used stones in modern architecture, and is commonly seen as façade material, wall cladding, and flooring.
